School Facilities

These aerial photographs taken by Martin Power show off our school building and the recent addition of of Astroturf pitch from the sky.

The Astroturf

Our Astroturf was first opened in January 2022 with fencing completed in 2024. The pitch has been a fantastic addition to our school facilities. It is used on a daily basis for P.E. lessons, yard play and coaching sessions.

We are extremely grateful to all those who supported our fundraising efforts to make this project a reality. In particular, we would like to say a sincere thank you to Mark Milligan for his superhuman effort in running 100km in one day as part of our 100k4100k event in 2021 where all the children of the school were also challenged to run, walk or cycle 100km over the course of a month and collect sponsorship. Thanks to Rosalind Milligan and Georgina Donohue who were the organisers behind the event which culminated in the whole school community coming out to cheer Mark on as his took on his challenge supported by parents who volunteered to cycle the route and help keep him going.

We would also like to acknowledge the contribution of Jason Redmond who volunteered his time to plan and project manage the development.

We would not have reached our €100,000 fundraising goal without the generous support of our corporate sponsors listed below. Go raibh míle maith agaibh!!!

The Playground

Thanks to the funds raised through our school Lotto we were able to add a beautiful new playground to our infant school yard in March 2025. The equipment includes climbing towers, bridges, monkey bars, climbing nets, slide, seesaw, springer and spinning bowl.

All equipment was specifically chosen to meet the needs of our pupils. The playground is used for free play and by children with additional needs under the supervision of our wonderful staff.

Further recent additions to our school include our Zen Den sensory room which is used to support the sensory needs of our pupils.

Traverse Climbing Walls which have been installed on our Junior and Middle yard areas.

Outdoor Classroom which includes sensory planting, play house, water play, sand play and mud kitchens.

Outdoor Chess Tables and picnic benches which were purchased following consultation with our Student Council.
