'Twas The Day Before Christmas Break- 5th Class (Ms. Keegan)

‘Twas the night before Christmas and the staff were working late

Mr. Davis was outside putting lights on the gate,

Ms. Ward and Ms. Behan were inside making mince pies,

Mr. Byrne sat by the window watching the skies.

Ms. Hillery was putting baubles on the tree,

Ms. Keegan and Alice were drinking peppermint tea,

Ms. Madden and Anne were hanging Christmas art,

Mr. Gallagher and Niamh asked if they could take part.

Mr. O’Leary and Ms. O’Sullivan were sitting by the fire,

Ms. Davis and Amie were listening to carols by a choir,

Johnny and Ms. Kavanagh were hanging decorations with care,

Ms. Knight was putting a new Christmas bow in her hair.

Ms. Whelan and Mary were opening their calendar window,

Ms. Gordon and Ms. Carroll were out playing in the snow,

Mr. Kavanagh, Siobhan and Ms. Finn were wrapping all the toys,

Elaine, Ms. Deering and Ms. Gately were making yummy cookies for all the girls and boys.

Catherine (aka Mrs. Claus) had so many phone calls to make,

Mr. Donovan (aka Santa) was preparing penalty sheets for after the Christmas break,

Ms. Bourke and Ms. Donnelly were hanging stockings by the door,

Ms. O’ Keefe and Ms. Fitzpatrick were placing doormats on the floor.

It was almost time for the end of Christmas Eve,

The staff were tired and were ready to leave.

They hopped into their cars and drove away

All ready to celebrate Christmas Day!
